India successfully test-fires BrahMos surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile

According to Xinhua News Agency, the Indian Ministry of Defense announced on December 17 that India successfully test-fired a “Brahmos” surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile at the integrated test site of the Chandipur base in Odisha state that day.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense quoted by Indian media, the test launch was carried out at 8:30 on the same day, and the missile was successfully launched through the mobile platform and met all parameters. This test launch is still led by the National Defense Research and Development Organization, which shows that this type of missile has achieved a high level in terms of strike accuracy and stability.

It is reported that “Brahmos” is a supersonic cruise missile jointly developed by India and Russia. The missile is currently used by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. According to information, the “BrahMos” missile has a speed of Mach 2.8 to 3, a range of up to 290 kilometers, and can carry a conventional warhead of 200 to 300 kilograms.
