Samsung reveals US pricing for 2021 "Neo QLED" LCD TVs

In the US, Samsung's 8K LCD TVs for 2021 will cost a little less at launch compared to last year's models. The company's high-end 4K LCD TVs will cost roughly the same or a little more.

Samsung's 2021 US pricing

Last year, Samsung significantly downgraded its 4K LCD TVs to push customers towards the more expensive 8K TVs. In 2021, Samsung will go in the opposite direction by upgrading its 4K LCD TVs with more advanced miniLED backlight technology. In the US, a Samsung "Neo QLED" LCD TV with 4K resolution will start at $1600 for a 55-inch model while the 8K models will start at $3500 for a 65-inch model. The 8K models generally cost a little less at launch compared to last year's models whereas the 4K models cost roughly the same (9 series) or a little more (8 series).

There is a new 'Game Bar' in Samsung's 2021 TVs

Samsung is the first TV maker to reveal US pricing this year. In 2021, LG will introduce "QNED" 4K and 8K LCD TVs to compete head-to-head with arch rival Samsung. In recent years, high-end LCD TVs have been getting more expensive as opposed to OLED TVs that are now on the brink of entering the mainstream segment. The 2021 Samsung TVs feature VA LCD panels with zone dimming miniLED backlights, HDMI 2.1 features like 4K120 and VRR, the latest version of the Tizen Smart TV platform, improved speakers, and more. You can find additional details in the TV Database or by clicking on the model names below. Samsung's high-end 2021 TVs are available for pre-order in the US now and will start shipping in March.
