Sony's new OLED models A80J and A90J, announced at CES in January, are now available in the US and Europe. The company will launch its first 83-inch OLED TV later this year.
Sony 2021 OLEDSony A80J, the successor to last year's A8G, is available in 55, 65, and 77 inches. The flagship A90J, the successor to A9G, is available in 55 and 65 inches, and later in 83 inches. For the first time Sony is offering HDMI 2.1 ports in its OLED TVs, although some functionality (VRR and ALLM) will require a firmware update. Other new features in 2021 include Sony's upgraded video processor. The company has also started transition from Android TV to Google TV that introduces a refreshed user interface.
A90J features a brighter OLED panel, although with caveats as found and discussed in detail in FlatpanelsHD's Sony A90J review. Sony A80J is available now in the US and Europe. A90J is rolling out and will be more widely available in the coming weeks. The 83-inch model will launch later this year.
